5,220 Days & Counting...I Won't Go Back {#VlogMom}

5,220 days ago I graduated from high school.

Seeing that number on the screen makes me think I should have accomplished more, much more. Not to say I haven't had a good go at life, but I've been slacking off on the being an awesome productive person since I got married and had a son.

I work inside the home.

I work outside the home.

I work from home.

I am a mom.

I am a wife.

I am woman.

I am enough without going back to a high school reunion.

I don't need other people from my past to feel complete, and whole.

I am enough.

This week the VlogMom prompt comes from Rajean at B Cause I Said So and she asks us if we would go back to a high school reunion and why or why not.

Would you go back for a reunion? Why or why not?

Have you been back to a reunion? Did you enjoy it?

I have not been back to a high school reunion for a lot of reasons, the main one being cost and distance. My circle of friends from high school is pretty spread out, so not many of my "close" friends were going. I had no real interest in going back to just hang out with acquaintances. Now college is a different story. My university has big class reunions all the time and I've never been to one of those, but I have been to one theatre department reunion and am going to another one next month. I had a lot of extremely close friends in my class (and the classes around me), many of whom I'm still friends with. I'm super excited about the reunion next month.

I'm with you! I'm not going back! Great vlog, beautiful outdoor setting. :)

I'm surprised at how many people don't go back and don't have the desire to, it makes me feel geeky for liking my time with some of my first friends. Now I'm singing the main song from Rent - great post lead in! Using your clever again! I still have to vlog my answer!

Wow - many people don't go back. I am attending mine and I think it will be fun. Great vlog and I like how you were outside. I may try that next week.

Eh, I'm mostly with you on this one. While I'm not totally opposed to going back for either high school or college reunions, thus far, I've really had no desire to do so. I communicate with the people I want to have a relationship with (whether it's just via facebook or something more active) and I don't feel the need to show off to those I don't care about. I think it's different for our generation & subsequent ones because we're all so entrenched in social media - it's not like it was in the past when you wanted to know about what happened to so-and-so, you really needed to attend those reunions. Now we can usually just visit facebook or google for all of the answers.
